Three Honda Models Win in DNA Awards! Recently, the New York Daily News announced winners of their DNA awards and the Honda Fit, Honda CR-V and Honda Pilot were highlighted in the City Car, Small SUV, and Family SUV categories, respectively. The New York Daily News explains the inception and purpose of the awards: “At Daily News Autos, our team of writers, editors, and contributors is committed to providing the best guidance possible about the vehicles people actually buy. In order to do that, and to the best of our ability, we need to put ourselves in your shoes, understanding your requirements, lifestyle, and intentions given the vehicle segment in which you are shopping. In 2016, in an effort to answer this simple yet complex question for as many people as possible, we launched the annual Daily News Autos Awards. In choosing the winners in a multitude of vehicle classes, we seek to nominate those models that best represent the “DNA” of a specific segment. The cars, SUVs, trucks, and minivans that win DNA Awards not only contain the core requirements and characteristics necessary to credibly serve their expected functions, but also reflect superior genetic makeup in terms of design, engineering, innovation, value, and dynamism.”

The editors share about their pick for Best City Car second year in a row, the Honda Fit, “But the Fit is not only a do-it-all, versatile city car for singles and small families. It’s screwed together well with far better than bargain-basement quality materials. Also, though it is small, the 2017 Honda Fit garners a 5-star overall crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and excels with “Good” ratings in testing performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. But the most unique and meaningful thing about the Fit – especially for the small car segment – is the configurable interior with phenomenal roominess. A low, flat interior floor means the Fit offers greater passenger space and cargo volume than even some crossover SUVs.”

Three Honda Models Win in DNA AwardsThe Honda CR-V, winner of Best Small SUV, won because its “built on a new platform, equipped with a stronger and more protective architecture, and infused with available turbocharged power and torque, the 2017 Honda CR-V is also bigger inside, able to carry people in greater comfort and more cargo than ever before. You thought you needed a midsize SUV? Perhaps not. Refinement is the name of the CR-V’s game, a philosophy that is evident from the moment you open the driver’s door and slip behind the steering wheel. This Honda utterly oozes quality, and with the Touring trim level the CR-V might as well be wearing an Acura badge.”

Three Honda Models Win in DNA AwardsFamily SUV winner, the Honda Pilot, impressed the editors, “With the Pilot, you get a spacious interior that provides comfort on even the longest family excursions. All three rows provide agreeable accommodations for adults, and an available rear entertainment system allows passengers to watch their favorite movies while on the road. The Honda Pilot’s strong crash-test scores are evidence of its ability to buffer your loved ones in a collision, and this SUV is available with a range of driver-assistive technologies that can prevent accidents from happening in the first place.”
